The Mantid Group at ISIS Facility currently comprises 9 Software Engineer staff and 5 Software Engineer contractors (Tessella). This group work together with Research Software Engineers at SNS, Oak Ridge National lab, USA and ESS, Lund Sweden.
The Mantid project started around 2007 at ISIS. Due to its success it is now developed and used wider, and is becoming the de-facto standard for the software treatment of data measured at neutron research facilities worldwide. As a professional software project it was highly commended at the UK IT Industry Computing Awards in 2015 in the Project Excellence category for the best not for profit project.
The project manager of Mantid is Nick Draper and Anders Markvardsen is the line manager and senior line manager of 9 software developers working on this project. Both Nick and Anders have worked on this project since its beginning.
