Swansea is looking to expand its RSE team attached to the Supercomputing Wales project, appointing one additional RSE. Our current team is two grade 9 RSEs and three grade 8 RSEs, working on projects related to enabling and improving HPC utilisation and efficiency.

Salary: Grade 8—£ 33,518 to £38,8333 per annum (pro-rata if part time) together with USS pension benefits if required.
Hours: This is a full time post (35 per week), This is a fixed term position until 31 July 2020.
Location: This position will be based at the Singleton Campus initially then moving to the Bay Campus in Sept 2018.

The HPC research community at Swansea University includes very experienced as well as novice users, and Domain Specific HPC Research Software Engineers are expected to engage effectively with all stakeholders. All project staff involved in the project research support activity will be expected to provide HPC domain specific support to a variety of High Performance Computer Academic users engaged in research at the forefront of scientific, medical and engineering subjects as well as in other emerging applications (e.g. Arts and Humanities), on software projects that range from one week to several months in length. Collaborations with researchers in and outside the consortium, as requested by the specifically supported projects, is anticipated.
