The Francis Crick Institute (the Crick) is a world-leading centre of biomedical research and innovation. It promotes connections between researchers and disciplines and between academic institutions, healthcare organisations and businesses. Dedicated to research excellence, the institute has the scale, vision and expertise to tackle the most challenging scientific questions underpinning health and disease.

Research at the Crick is data-intensive, and involve experimental, theoretical and computational science. The Application Integration and Migration (AIM) team in the Crick’s Scientific Computing Department provide support to scientists at the Institute in adapting and optimizing bio-medical systems to make best use of high performance computing and big data platforms. AIM also develop big data analytic platform and toolkit to enable Crick research groups in the area of genomics, proteomics, clinical, biochemistry, and bio-imaging to organize and process big omic data, so that biomedical scientists can make sense of them and retrieve what they need.

The AIM team is led by Dr Wei Xing.
