The Alan Turing Institute, launched in November 2015, is the UK’s new national centre for data science, based in the British Library in London.  The Institute will undertake data science research at the intersection of computer science, mathematics, statistics, systems engineering, and social science.   Our research aims to be translational. At the heart of that goal will be a team of full-time Research Software Engineers who will work in collaboration with our researchers to turn their ideas into robust, re-usable, open-source software. We are actively recruiting and plan to grow to a team of about five by next year, perhaps more in subsequent years.
